Communication

Weekend ghost hunters, paranormal investigators and serious paranormal researchers all need to communicate with each other. We have two types of two-way radios. If you are a weekend ghost hunter, you probably won't mind if little Junior next door listens to you on your GMRS two-way radio 'walkie-talkies'. If you are a serious paranormal researcher or doing a private paranormal investigation, you may not be so anxious to have little Junior next door and the rest of his friends listening in on your investigation at the house of the client who doesn't even want you to wear your paranormal investigation team shirts because he or she doesn't want the neighbors to know there is something strange going on in their house. If you fall into this type of paranormal investigator, you may want to take advantage of the MURS two-way radios, which are much more private, though not completely, and you do not need a license to operate them, like you do with an amateur radio (which are also not private). The MURS radio has 5 channels and 38 sub channels you can choose from, and is capable of communicating over distances of several miles (actual range will vary depending on the local terrain, but should be more than adequate for all but the most unusual cases). There is little other traffic on these channels since they are not as common as GMRS two-way radios.
